Building work begins on the new Scientific Pole of the Sant'Anna School in San Giuliano Terme, a short distance from the central and historic campus in Pisa. The groundbreaking ceremony and simultaneous media briefing are set for Monday, May 20, at 11 a.m. on Via Berchet, at the corner with Via Moruzzi, along the road axis that connects the CNR research area with Cisanello Hospital.

The start of the work comes just weeks after the contract was signed with the partner in the public-private partnership deal, the grouping of companies led by Icop, a Udine-based company known in the construction world, with the participation of Camst Group and Ideal Service. With an estimated construction duration of 27 months, the first buildings envisaged in the master plan, overseen by Lombardini 22 of Milan, will be built. The first four buildings constructed will house the research, teaching and technology transfer activities of the Experimental Sciences (Engineering, Medicine, Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology) and a service center with a large auditorium.

The ceremony on Monday, May 20 at 11 a.m. will be attended by the Rector Sabina Nuti, the General Director Alessia Macchia, the Icop CEO Piero Petrucco, and the mayor of San Giuliano Terme (Pisa).
